New To SCJAA Volleyball

When does the season start?

The week of April 11th will be our first week of practices

What day will we practice on?

Days and times of practices are left up to the coach of that team.  Typically teams will practice 2 days a week.   The best way to make sure your practice day and time will work for you is to coach because then it is completely up to you!

I've never played volleyball can I still coach?

ABSOLUTELY!  Everyone starts somewhere, there is some great resources out there and we are happy to point you in the right direction.  All you need to a willingness to learn.

How much is registration?

The registration fee for the season will be $100 for 3rd-8th and $80 for 1st-2nd

Will there be an in person registration?

Yes, but the date is TBD

What ages can play?

Our age groups are based on grade level and are 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th.  We will also be offering a 1st/2nd team that will only hold practices, if there is enough interest we can coordinate scrimmages between teams.

Can boys play?

Yes! This sport is co-ed.

Are there scholarships available?

This will be on a case by case basis.  Another option being if you volunteer as a coach you get a $50 refund for one child's registration at the end of the season.

Are the coaches background checked and trained on safety procedures?

Yes!  We have all our coaches run through a background check and SafeSport training to make sure your kids are as safe as they can be!

When does registration open and close?

Registration will open on January 13th and close on March 13th

Can my child play up an age group?

A child has the option to play up, all you need to do is fill out the "Play Up Form" found under the "For Parents" tab.

What equipment will be needed?

Tennis shoes, athletic clothing and knee pads for practice and games.  Jerseys for games are included in your registration fee.  Balls are also provided but we suggest investing in your own youth size to practice at home.

Where will games be held?

Our goal is to have enough players to have every game played in house at Stanwood Middle School

Where can I find the rules?
